Origin of the Site
During some point in 1998, I found myself in a computer store with my family, listening to my sister going on about a game called Riven, which was apparently a sequel to Myst.
By the end of that trip to the store I walked away with a copy of Carmageddon, and my sister a copy of Myst.
What followed was an instant love of the game, which lead me to Riven, the Myst novels, the internet and subsequently the Myst Community.
It was then that DJC first started, as part of a website about myself that was created on fortunecities later the site was renamed Stoneship and moved to tripod where it continued to grow. In 2000 I believe it was, I felt a change was needed once again, I had planned bigger things for the site and wanted to see it grow further still. After a while I settled on MystWorlds, only to find the name already taken. In the end I decided to call the site The D’ni Jazz Club after one of my signatures attached to emails made to the Riven Lysts.
DJC moved to a new home still on tripod where it lived and grew until 2003. It was in 2003 that I met Kehra and after a while of her hosting our forums we moved to our own domain.
Over the following years DJC went through a lot of changes, a lot of problems some due to the site, some due to the health of myself the site owner. The site has closed, opened, closed and opened again, more times than I care to think about as these problems prevailed.
But the site remains, it continues to grow and it continues to help its visitors find the information they seek, one day we hope that the site and the forums will be as busy as they used to be but only time will tell. - Keith “Tweek” Lord
